Every DialNext plan comes with unlimited inbound calling plus generous monthly allowances for outbound minutes, SMS segments, and call transcription, so teams can talk to customers without watching a meter. This page sets out exactly how those allowances work, region by region, and what happens once a workspace goes past them.
Allowances by region
United States & CanadaInbound under $0.02/min
- Essentials carries 500 SMS segments per user each billing month; Pro carries 1000. Outbound calling includes 1000 minutes per user each billing month on both plans, and inbound calling is unlimited per user, under the fair-use terms on this page.
- Transcription is included on every call, up to 500 minutes per user each billing month on Essentials and 500 on Pro. AI call summaries, sentiment analysis, and smart chapters are available as a paid add-on on top of any plan.
- These figures apply to your whole workspace, not each person individually — for example, a 10-seat Essentials workspace shares a combined 5,000 SMS segments, 10,000 outbound minutes, and 5,000 transcription minutes a month, alongside unlimited inbound calling for every seat.
- A teammate added partway through the month gets a share of that month’s SMS segments, outbound minutes, and transcription minutes scaled to the days remaining, rather than the full monthly amount.
- Inbound calling is included on routes priced under $0.02 per minute; pricier routes and inbound toll-free traffic sit outside the allowance.

Allowances reset, they don’t carry over
Any outbound minutes, SMS segments, or transcription minutes left unused at the end of a billing month are gone once the next month starts — there’s no banking them for later. Inbound calling stays unlimited under this policy, so there’s nothing to carry forward on that side.
Going past your allowance
Once a workspace uses up its outbound minutes, SMS segments, or transcription minutes for the month, further calls, messages, or transcripts draw from your account’s prepaid balance at our standard per-minute or per-segment rate — you can check those rates any time before you dial, send, or transcribe.
Built for conversations, not infrastructure
Unlimited inbound calling and the outbound minutes included in your plan are meant for people talking to people. Neither covers trunking, forwarding to a PBX or key system, auto-dialers, or traffic at call-center or telemarketing scale, and neither covers forwarding to numbers built to handle many simultaneous calls at once. Usage like this bills from your prepaid balance at standard rates, and we may cap or throttle an account whose usage pattern matches this kind of scaled traffic.
SMS segments cover one-to-one messaging
The SMS allowance is for direct, person-to-person conversations. Bulk sends, messages triggered by workflow automations, and bot-generated messages aren’t included and are billed at standard segment rates from your prepaid balance instead.
What transcription minutes cover
Included transcription minutes cover a text transcript of your inbound and outbound calls. AI-generated call summaries, sentiment analysis, and smart chapters are not part of the included allowance — they’re available on any plan as a paid add-on.
How we measure usage
Calls are billed per minute and rounded up, with a one-minute minimum even for calls that barely connect. SMS is billed per 160-character segment, with any partial segment rounded up to the next whole one. Transcription minutes are measured against the duration of the call being transcribed.
Changes & enforcement
We may update the limits on this page, or the policy itself, as our network and pricing evolve. Where an account’s usage clearly runs against the spirit of this policy, we may limit, suspend, or otherwise restrict access to keep the service fast and fair for everyone else on it.
